Lucy Sparrow - Sew your Soul

Lucy Sparrow X Tatty Devine: Felt Art You Can Wear

Ever wondered what happens when you take Lucy Sparrow’s colourful and whimsical world of felt food and turn it into jewellery? You get the brand-new Lucy Sparrow x Tatty Devine collection. It’s every bit as fun as you’d expect.

For this exciting collaboration, Lucy teamed up with British jewellery icons Tatty Devine to transform some of her most recognisable felt creations into wearable pieces of art. The collection is made from recycled acrylic and takes inspiration from Lucy’s latest installation – The Beginning of Convenience.

So, if you’ve ever looked at one of Lucy’s pieces and thought ‘I wish I could wear that’, you might just be in luck.

From Felt to Jewellery

Lucy’s artworks have always been about taking everyday items and making them extraordinary. A tin of soup, packet of crisps, a bottle of ketchup or a box of macaroni cheese might be something you’d normally find in your kitchen cupboard. But in Lucy’s world, they’re transformed into meticulously handmade works of art.

For her collaboration with Tatty Devine, that idea has been taken one step further.

Instead of being made from Lucy’s signature felt, these miniature versions have been transformed into bold, colourful jewellery pieces using recycled acrylic. Her collection feels instantly recognisable, while bringing her artwork into a completely new format.

Inspired by the The Beginning of Convenience

The jewellery collection takes inspiration from Lucy’s latest installation, The Beginning of Convenience — an 80’s-90’s Walmart inspired supermarket.

The installation brings Lucy’s signature felt world to life on a monumental scale (her largest to date), filling the space with thousands of handmade food, drink and household items.

Now, you can quite literally take a little piece of that world with you everywhere you go!

Mac & Cheese Anyone?

It’s sooo difficult to pick a favourite from the collection! We love them all equally. But the one that catches our eye the most has to be the mac & cheese jewellery. Sew cute and cheesy.

Inspired by Lucy’s felt food artworks, the mac & cheese pieces capture all the wonderfully nostalgic charm of the real thing, but in a much more wearable form.

There’s two varieties of mac & cheese necklaces complete with matching earrings and a cheesy brooch, giving you the perfect opportunity to accessorise your outfit with one of the ultimate comfort foods.

Because why wear an ordinary necklace when you could wear macaroni and cheese?

Tatty Devine

Tatty Devine feels like the perfect partner for Lucy *insert heart eyes emoji*.

Both share a love of colour, humour, and nostalgia. Tatty Devine has spent decades creating jewellery that makes people smile, while Lucy’s felt artworks do exactly the same thing.

It’s been a dream of Lucy’s to work with Tatty Devine so when they reached out to ask for a collaboration of course she said yes! The result…a fun, playful, and whimsical jewellery collection that perfectly encapsulates the personality of Lucy’s artwork.

Wearable Art

Lucy’s installations are designed to immerse yourself in, explore, photograph, and enjoy, but they’re not exactly something you can pop into your handbag and take home with you. Apart from her smaller felt artworks obviously.

This jewellery collection changes that. It means you can carry a little bit of Lucy’s whimsical world with you everywhere – whether that’s a pair of trolley earrings, a statement necklace, or a bubble gum wrapper pinned to your jacket.

Whether you’re a long-time Lucy Sparrow fan, a Tatty Devine collector or someone who loves fun accessories (we 100% support this decision), the collection is a very good excuse to add a little more fun to your wardrobe.
